These stages outline my general approach, not a rigid process. The scope, sequence, and methods depend on the needs of each project.
Understanding the Work
Establish business objectives and desired outcomes. Work with stakeholders and employees to understand their responsibilities, challenges, and day-to-day processes.
Documentation & Diagnosis
Document workflows, system dependencies, and data flows. Identify bottlenecks, investigate root causes, establish performance baselines, and prioritize improvements.
Design & Prototyping
Design improved processes, clarify ownership and milestones, and prototype solutions to test ideas and gather early feedback.
Implementation & Validation
Implement changes incrementally, test against real-world scenarios, and refine solutions with stakeholder and user feedback.
Measurement & Handover
Measure results against the original baseline, document the solution, and transfer knowledge and ownership to the team.
